About the role
You will be responsible for the production of new business from identifying new opportunities, referrals and proactive sales activity. We are a fast-growing organisation that aims to excel within our chosen niches, and you will be suitably supported to meet your monthly and annual targets.
You may also be responsible for servicing the insurance portfolios of allocated clients in a timely, professional and cost-effective manner meeting an agreed retention target.
We operate within a number of specialist niches including:
- Construction- Life Science and Technology- Legal Indemnities- Museums and Heritage- Property- Schools and Colleges- Marine- Private Client
Adding to one of our existing niches or creating another, you will be supported by a line manager and marketing department and will also be assisted by a highly qualified and multi-disciplined team of Account Handlers.
There is flexibility to location and home working arrangements. It would be expected that you will be in the office as required whilst attending client/prospect meetings and networking events to meet your objectives.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- To assimilate clients’ and prospects’ insurance risks/needs and devise suitable solutions wherever possible- To expand existing client portfolios to include additional covers where appropriate- To produce new business from referrals and proactive sales activity where appropriate- To develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, insurers, and other suppliers
For this role, we require that you have or are working towards completing the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII).
At Hayes Parsons we take pride in our professional development. We work with an internal trainer to provide valuable knowledge and support to the team during their qualifications. If you have already completed the Cert CII and want to continue to the Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Insurance, Hayes Parsons will fully fund it for you.
Your skills and experience
For this role we require you to have 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry, have a good understanding of the main classes of business insurance and have some experience in the production of new business.
Your skill set will include:- The ability to prioritise and organise own workload and work to pressured deadlines- The ability to negotiate effectively with insurers and clients- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing- The ability to write reports and make presentations- The ability to sell- The ability to work as a member of a team- The ability to show leadership within the department and when act as a referral point
