Summary of the Heritage Trust Network conference

We are delighted to be sponsoring the Heritage Trust Network (HTN) conference for the fourth time this year. HTN are putting on a ‘blended event’ whereby the conference will take place both virtually and in-person to accommodate everyone who is unable to attend. The event kicks off on 11 November and will be hosted by Liz Bates, HTN Chair and specialist in heritage led regeneration.

What’s on?

Day 1: Virtual conference – Thursday 11 November

The conference will start at 10:30am and there will be a mixture of topics including:

  • Heritage-led regeneration
  • Eco-friendly sustainability into heritage projects
  • Net-zero
  • The Building Social Value Framework
  • Case studies on various on-going heritage projects

See full program here.

Day 2: In-person conference – Friday 19 November

This in-person event will run over the course of two days in Coventry and will start with arrival refreshments at 9am each day. The conference will include a number of workshops run by sponsors, partners and selected speakers. This two day event will be recorded so HTN members can also watch the event after.

There will be a range of workshops throughout the day and page 2 of the program notes all the organised workshops.

As well as workshops, there will also be a lottery prize draw after lunch followed by entertainment, sponsored by Donald Insall Associates. The day will finish with some action planning for 2022 and the conference dinner held at Metropolis at 7pm. We are delighted to be sponsoring the conference dinner this year where our heritage experts, Ben Leah and Martin Howard will be attending. If you have any questions around insurance and risk management within the sector then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Ben and Martin’s contact details can be found at the end of this blog.

Day 3: In-person conference – Saturday 20 November

The last day of the conference will begin at 10am with various tours to choose from including:

  • City of Culture
  • City Centre Heritage Regeneration
  • Spon End, Weaver’s House

Following lunch and an opportunity to look around Coventry Transport Museum, the afternoon schedule will involve more tours including:

  • Charterhouse and London Road Cemetery

  • Second opportunity to visit Spon End, Weaver’s House

For more detail on these tours, check out page 5 of the conference programme.

We hope that everyone enjoys this years blended HTN conference.
